Laissez les bons temps rouler as we head to The Big Easy! If your only images of New Orleans are Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street debauchery, you’re missing out on the true spirit of this city. Not only that, New Orleans is a great family destination for all ages. On this trip, join Sarah and I to get a literal taste of the city’s best culinary offerings, explore the numerous activities for kids, and venture out for a little swamp touring. I grew up going to this buzzing city and can’t wait to show you some of my favorite places!
Itinerary*
Friday, October 9th: Arrival day. If you arrive before 3pm, spend the afternoon exploring on your own until it’s time to check into our hotel. At 6pm, we’ll head out for our first group dinner.
Saturday, October 10th: Get ready for an adventure! Today, we’ll be picked up from the hotel and we’ll head off to the swamps. After a 45 minute ride, we’ll hop on our private air boat ride through the Louisiana bayou where we’ll see alligators, birds and other wildlife. That afternoon, we’ll hop on the streetcar and head uptown as we wrap up the day with a kids creole cooking class. The evening is for you to explore on your own.
Sunday, October 11th: Today, we’ll experience Sunday jazz brunch, in true New Orleans fashion. After brunch, spend the afternoon getting lost in the French Quarter, perusing the open air French Market, visiting the Audubon Zoo or Aquarium, the Louisiana Children’s Museum, or picturesque City Park, with it’s massive live oaks. In the evening, babysitters will come to the hotel and the kids will have a final group pizza dinner while the moms head out for a final group dinner of their own.
Monday, October 12th: Departure Day. Grab a breakfast of beignets at Cafe Du Monde before heading home with new friends and great memories.
$200 deposit is required per family. Spots are given on a first come, first serve basis. Deposit is 100% refundable if the trip is cancelled by Anywhere + Everywhere at any time. Deposit is 100% refundable if cancelled by you up to 30 days prior to trip. Any cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable. Travel arrangements to New Orleans must be made on your own.
